總統馬英九今(26)日表示，自己上任後民間對觀光產業的投資超過新台幣2000億，加上這幾年大力開放陸客來台觀光，讓台灣觀光產業大幅提升。數據顯示，每年來台的觀光客人數，從他上任前一年的372萬人，成長至731萬人(2012年)，漲幅高達96%。

馬英九上午會見「2013大溪文藝季作客總統府 關公回娘家」活動成員，他認為，台灣許多小鎮都很有特色、人情味，如大甲鎮瀾宮、平溪放天燈，甚至台灣的腳踏車道與高鐵，都曾獲得旅遊書的大力推薦，這些都是台灣觀光的重要資產。

數據顯示，來台觀光人數在馬上台前每年為372萬人，但到去年人數來到了731萬，成長近96%。馬英九認為，這不僅是陸客的效益，因為連其他各國的遊客人數也持續成長，這幾年政府推出300億元的觀光產業發展基金，才能有這樣的成效。

馬英九坦言，觀光當然是政府要投資，但最重要是政策要正確，如果把國家都關起來，關起來就不光了，因此一定要開放。
