埃及流血衝突

埃及軍方暴力鎮壓支持遭罷黜總統穆希的抗議民眾，造成嚴重衝突，目前已造成638人死亡，近4000人受傷。對此，美國總統歐巴馬宣布取消兩年一度的「明星」軍事演習（Bright Star），但並未切斷對埃及的巨額軍事援助。
針對此次埃及「大屠殺」，各方反應激烈。聯合國安理會今（16）日已召開緊急會議，俄羅斯要求國民別去埃及旅遊，馬來西亞人民公正黨則要求政府立即切斷同埃及軍政府的外交關係。英國《金融時報》發表社論，稱「埃及民族已死」。埃及臨時副總統、2005年諾貝爾和平獎巴拉迪日前也已經遞交辭呈，稱「不能為一滴血承擔責任」。
相較之下，美國只是口頭譴責，並宣布取消下（9）月與埃及的軍演，甚至並未打算取消每年對埃及的巨額援助。據悉，美國每年會向埃及提供15.5億美元援助，不過，其中13億（約390億新台幣）都給了軍方。《馬來西亞記事報》認為，美國向埃及軍方提供的巨額軍援，是導致這起慘劇的原因之一。
埃及工作小組（Working Group on Egypt）成員在聲明中說：「美國政府一再呼籲埃及當局避免流血衝突，卻遭漠視，總統之後沒有中止對埃及軍方的援助，是戰略失誤，影響了目標達成，並削弱美國公信力。」
事實上，明星軍演因為陳舊過時，無法符合美軍現有聚集反叛亂和反恐活動的作為，對美國國防部而言，早已不具吸引力了。因此，取消軍演對於美國而言，代價極低。 (接下一頁)
