最新數據顯示美國上季經濟成長趨緩，表現不如市場預期，投資人買黃金避險，刺激國際金價勁揚。1月全月漲幅擴大到8%，創三年來最大單月漲幅。

美國商務部公布，去年第4季國內生產毛額（GDP）成長2.6%，幾乎只有第3季的一半。投資人擔心美國的成長力道會受到歐亞經濟疲軟拖累，導致聯準會（Fed）延後升息時機，黃金4月期貨在30日止住前兩日的跌勢，收盤大漲1.9%至每英兩1,279.2美元，創兩周來最大漲幅。金價上周曾突破1,300美元關卡，站上五個月高點，但聯準會上修對美國經濟與就業市場的預測，金價29日暴跌逾2%，為2013年以來最大跌幅。

Circle Squared另類投資公司董事長席卡說：「雖然黃金市場認為Fed聲明是利空，但大家別忘了，歐洲和中國經濟正面臨壓力。有這麼多寬鬆資金注入金融系統，我不認為投資人現在會放棄黃金。」
