美國股市15日重挫，道瓊工業指數大跌225點，原因除了思科和沃爾瑪兩大企業對經濟前景的看法都趨保守，市場也擔心聯邦準備理事會可能將開始縮減刺激經濟的寬鬆貨幣措施。
思科公司（Cisco）和沃爾瑪公司（Walmart）都是道瓊工業指數的重要成份股，道瓊指數終場下跌225.47點，或1.47%，收在15112.19點。
那斯達克指數下跌63.16點，或1.72%，收在3606.12點；標準普爾500指數下跌24.07點，或1.43%，收在1661.32點。
美國勞工部今天公布的數據顯示，上週初申失業救濟金人數意外下滑，來到將近6年來最低水平，引發聯邦準備理事會（Fed）下月將開始減碼購債的疑慮。
彭博社8月9日至13日調查的經濟師中，65%認為以主席柏南奇（Ben S. Bernanke）為首的聯準會，可能會在9月17日至18日舉行的例會上縮減每月購債850億美元的規模。（中央社）
