底特律活塞本季積極招兵買馬，呈現出的成績卻不如預期，除了開除總教練Maurice Cheeks，老闆Tom Gores現在還想摘了總管Joe Dumars的烏紗帽。

根據《紐約每日新聞》報導，Gores近日積極接洽「微笑刺客」Isiah Thomas，希望找這位前NBA巨星、前任總管「重作馮婦」。

自2000年Dumars走馬上任以來，活塞前前後後已經換了8名總教練，加上2月被「炒魷魚」的Cheeks。

Thomas球員時期就是「終身活塞」，1981-82年球季起，13年職業生涯都奉獻給「汽車城」，退役後曾擔任印第安納溜馬、紐約尼克總教練，以及尼克總管。
