國民黨榮譽主席連戰昨晚為兒子、台北市長參選人連勝文站台時提到，「有些人年紀七老八十了，應該要退了，不要多講話了，尤其是在電視上，把自己剩餘的價值都榨得乾乾淨淨」，外界解讀是在暗諷日前才接受電視專訪的親民黨主席宋楚瑜。對此，柯文哲5日受訪表示，「那句話用我現在標準來看，是屬於失言，牽涉到年齡歧視。」

柯文哲說，他在美國住過，在美國有個字非常敏感，叫discrimination，像性別歧視、年齡歧視都很嚴重，「那句話用我現在標準來看，是屬於失言，牽涉到年齡歧視。」

記者詢問，對於宋楚瑜昨天表示，目前沒有計劃跟雙方參選人見面，柯文哲則說，見不見也不是那麼重要，政治上就是努力地去爭取少一個敵人、多一個朋友，剩下就順其自然、水到渠成。

宋楚瑜昨被問及年底台北市長選舉支持誰，宋不回答，只說還沒看到兩位參選人提出參選動機和對台北市的定位。柯文哲表示，「長輩的觀察就是我們努力的方向。」
