莊博宇全中運擊劍銳劍個人賽摘金，今天（23日）在團體賽幫高雄岡山高中拿下季軍，他也盼望2017台北世大運能代表地主奪得佳績，甚至挑戰更高殿堂的國際級賽事。

莊博宇先前在約旦亞青擊劍錦標賽拿下一面銅牌，他先前已參加過兩次，分別晉級三十二強與十六強，這次一舉打進前三名。

國際賽的水平讓他見識不少，他說：「技術差不多，但是他們對抗性很好。」亞青銅牌並未讓他自滿，反而用更嚴肅的態度挑戰全中運，「因為每一次對手都不一樣，特性都不好掌握。」

不過他仍在銳劍個人項目拿下金牌，目前也是世大運潛力培訓計畫的選手之一，「能參加最好，其他更高水準的國際賽有機會也想盡力去挑戰。」

莊博宇國一才開始練擊劍，國小時籃球與滑輪溜冰選手，受哥哥影響踏上擊劍之路，結果哥哥後來把擊劍當興趣，而他一躍成為菁英選手。

期盼在國際賽發光，莊博宇亟欲補足自己能力不足之處，他說：「技術與國外選手差不了多少，可是機動性與靈活動都要再強化。」
