（中央社紐約聯合國總部30日綜合外電報導）聯合國秘書長潘基文今天呼籲香港尊重民主原則。數以萬計要求民主的香港示威者走上街頭，要求更大的自由和北京更少的干預。

潘基文的發言人杜雅里克（Stephane Dujarric）告訴記者：「他（潘基文）了解這是內部事務，但是呼籲所有利害相關人，以和平與捍衛民主原則的方式化解一切歧異。」

四面楚歌的香港行政長官梁振英今天呼籲抗議群眾，立即停止「占中」民主活動，但群眾拒絕撤離，除非中國大陸讓港人享有真正的民主。這場抗議獲數萬人響應，並癱瘓香港部分地區。

抗議領袖信心滿滿表示，在晚間到明天的國慶日假期將可號召大批群眾加入。今年的十一國慶將慶祝中華人民共和國成立65年。(中央社)
